The White Book was destroyed, thanks to the help of the Adder's deceitful grandson Jacapo and Mo. The Bluejay became an identity of the past, pushed aside by necessity, for with it Mo would go insane from Orpheus's words. And speaking of whom, Orpheus vanished to the Northern Mountains. No one knows what became of him, and frankly... no one really cares. There are other things to think about. Such as the fact that the child Resa conceived is now nine years old, dreaming of flying and of worlds he's never seen. And Farid, whom no one has heard from since Maggie's rejection in favor of the handyman Doria. Rumor has it there might be a wedding soon, but the couple have been reluctant to break under Mo's stern eye.
But not everything is worth celebrating. Ombra's been enjoying nine years of peace and tranquility beneath the watchful eye of Her Ugliness, who's been graced with some much more friendly names since she brought prosperity back to Ombra upon her father's death. The royal wealth is the village's wealth. The Strolling Players are allowed within the city walls again, bringing the streets to life with shows whether the spectators can afford to pay or not.
